We will then work with you to develop a customized treatment plan to address these factors. As you progress, you will learn strategies you can use to prevent your injury from recurring.
Here are answers to some of the commonly asked physiotherapy questions we get asked.
Your first visit to Thrive Therapy will be booked as an assessment; your physiotherapist will spend approximately an hour with you. They will begin by asking you specific questions to get a complete picture of your condition, current symptoms and past history.
Next, your physiotherapist will take you through a movement assessment, examining both your area of pain, as well as identifying underlying causes and contributing factors.
This will be followed by education about your condition and discussion of your treatment options. Your physiotherapist will then provide you with one or more of the following: hands-on therapy, specific exercises, and pain-relieving tips and tricks.
All initial appointments are one hour and follow-up appointments will be approximately 45 minutes.

Many clinics will require you to arrive 10 to 15 minutes ahead of time to fill out paperwork. Since our clinic is paperless, an electronic form will be sent to you upon booking your first appointment, so you will not need to arrive early for your session.
Comfortable, loose clothing is best. Your therapist will be completing a thorough examination, and may need to examine areas beyond the site of your pain. We have gowns and shorts for you to borrow, or you are welcome to bring your own shorts or loose tank top.
No. You do not need a doctor’s prescription to access our services; however, some insurance companies may need a referral for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to determine if you need a doctor’s referral to access your physiotherapy benefits.
